Six Quick Feng Shui Tips for your Home and Workplaceby Margaret McGoverne According to the ancient Chinese art/philosophy of Feng Shui, the way you decorate and maintain your home has a huge impact on many aspects of your life.
If you work or live in a badly planned jumble of furniture and clutter with a lack of space around furniture casuing you to feel hemmed in, it's likely your finances, health and emotional well-being will be just as messy and constricting.
Here are six tips on how to start incorporating feng shui into your home and life.
1) A cluttered and messy environment hinders energy from flowing properly. Start off by cleaning your home or office and getting rid of anything that is no longer useful. Don't Hoard!
2) Fix, replace or throw anything in need of repair.
3) See to anything that you've postponed or allowed to pile up, such as those final reminders, letters or items on your "To Do" list.
Doing this allows you to start with a clean slate and helps you gain a renewed sense of clarity.
4) Plants in your environment, (as long as they are and healthy, well-fed and watered) will improve the energy flow.
Plants with round leaves are preferable to other varieties.
5) Draughts should be prevented as they can carry away money and cause health problems.
6) Avoid excessive overhead lights such as flourescent lighting
lamps and candles are much softer on the eye and more conducive to calm and order. Keep sharp-cornered objects to a minimum; again round and natural edges are more in tune with natural energies.
